Promoting Equity

As a consumer self-care company, Perrigo serves diverse consumers. By ensuring our culture fosters, values and celebrates our differences in race, gender, experiences, ideas and more, we help colleagues bring their whole selves to work and cultivate insights that help us understand and better serve our diverse customers. Recent events have provided a very stark and painful reminder of what can happen when diversity and inclusion is not valued in our conversations, our actions and our communities. Our colleagues, consumers and communities need us to learn more about inequality and racism and how we can all do better.

Fostering Curiosity and an Open Mind

Our Diversity and Inclusion strategy focuses on the importance of treating all members of our global community with fairness and respect. Our D&I team has developed global campaigns and resources that build awareness and celebrate the unique perspectives and experiences that our colleagues bring to the organization. They also help the company navigate critical topics, such as recent efforts to create discussion guides and other resources for colleagues to learn more about racial inequality. Additionally, the strategy focuses on transformational and inclusive leadership that fosters open conversation and open minds.

Strengthening Communities

Perrigo has long supported organizations focused on uplifting communities by improving education, working to eliminate food insecurity, enhancing access to healthcare, and supporting career and life skills development. In 2019 alone, the Perrigo Company Charitable Foundation awarded more than $3 million to support these goals and 47% of that funding ties to our diversity strategy. We remain committed and continue to support under-represented and underserved populations, including the Black community, to help make lives better for our colleagues and consumers.

D&I Strategy

Perrigo has a three-year strategy that focuses on three key areas for 2020-2022:

  • Informing and educating our workforce on our D&I strategy and key topics
  • Strengthening our talent management practices through a lens of inclusion
  • Creating our governance and key metrics to establish our foundation and help us monitor progress

We create annual measures of success and monitor progress against our targets.

Each year, Perrigo hosts events across the globe to promote an inclusive culture. Below highlights some of the key events held to engage Perrigo colleagues and leaders.

We Are Perrigo Women

We hold global and site level initiatives featuring topics designed to inform, inspire, and grow our female talent.

Perrigo understands that a healthy company means investing in its diverse talent. Half of our global workforce are women, an area which leadership is passionate about developing.

Perrigo offers extensive development opportunities through organized events, our GROW University, and International Women’s Day brought together women and men from across the globe and received resounding positive feedback.

Disability Inclusion

Perrigo works to foster a compassionate and inclusive work environment for individuals that are differently abled. Perrigo is proud to join the Valuable 500 campaign, which calls on 500 global business leaders to make a tangible commitment to addressing disability exclusion in business.

Perrigo has recognized National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) to celebrate the contributions of workers with disabilities, while educating the organization about the strengths they bring to the workplace.

Veterans Day

Veterans are a vital part of our workforce and their service and traditions are recognized and supported through veteran's organizations within the company.

Perrigo Michigan holds an annual Veterans Day event where a flag raising ceremony is performed by veterans across the company.

The event also brings together members of several branches as a networking experience to share how their service applies to the workplace, and provides a gathering place for service members to come together.

Pride Week

Pride Week celebrates the LGBTQ+ community within Perrigo and promotes an accepting environment globally. 

During Pride month, Perrigo colleagues that identify with or as an ally to the LGBTQ+ community engage the hearts and heads of the Perrigo team by sharing personal stories. Perrigo also proudly displays our Pride logo during the month of June, annually.

These efforts not only represent the supportive internal culture Perrigo is building, but also demonstrates the values in which we engage with our consumers and customers.

Diversity and Inclusion Men

We Are Perrigo Men

At Perrigo, diversity includes everyone, and our men are no exception. As a self-care company, we recognize the needs of men by offering extensive development opportunities through our GROW University. We also promote mental wellness in support of suicide prevention and awareness of men's health issues, such as working to reduce instances of prostate and testicular cancer.
