Loes joined Perrigo Netherlands in 2020 as Regulatory Affairs Associate. Find out below what attracted her to Perrigo and the local Regulatory Affairs Team!
How long have you worked here? Can you tell us more about your role and background? Just over a year ago I’ve joined Perrigo as Regulatory Affairs Associate. In the Local RA team I’m responsible for our food supplement category, and since a few months also for cosmetics. Before joining Perrigo I’ve worked in food, so I was very excited to start in a different industry and get the chance to learn about other product types. Although there are some similarities between RA work in food and food supplements, there are also a lot of differences and new things to learn. It is great to get the opportunity to learn more about cosmetics, medical devices and medicines too.
What made you decide to join Perrigo? Since the start of my career I’ve worked in the food industry, and for me it came to a point that I either was going to specialize further in food, or take the chance to broaden my knowledge by experiencing a different type of industry. I’ve always had an interest in the healthcare business, and the pandemic strengthened this. So when I got the chance to work for a company with a range of well-known selfcare brands, I decided to go for it.
What is your favourite part of your role? Daily contact with different colleagues, ranging from our own RA team to marketing, innovation, and external stakeholders. Throughout the company there is a strong team feeling and motivation to get things done together. This also makes it very easy to reach out to colleagues across the company, everyone is very open and willing to help!
How would you describe your team culture? It’s cliché, but it truly feels like a friendly, warm hug! I’ve started at Perrigo when we were all working from home, and even from a distance the team made me feel welcome and at home. Everybody is enthusiastic and open and they make you feel part of the team from the start. Within our team everyone has the responsibility for a couple of brands, and I feel you get the trust and support to be able to also take this responsibility. We are a very open team and there is always room to ask, share and discuss things that are on your mind.
Your team has a current vacancy – what are you looking for in a new colleague? Humour! All joking aside, Regulatory Affairs has a serious and maybe even dull image. Our team proves that this is completely wrong, and that humour and fun are also part of this job. I also believe this helps in daily business discussions with colleagues, because of course we sometimes have to be strict and serious.
What would you say to people thinking about applying to Perrigo? I can be very short about this: just do it!
