A Spotlight on..... Meghan Carroll

MC

Meghan Carroll is a Graphic Designer based in Charlottesville,Virginia! Meghan joined Perrigo in June 2021 and below she shares with us why she made the move and how things are going so far!

What is your background and experience, tell us about you! I grew up on Cape Cod and graduated from Boston University with a communications degree with the intent of working for an ad agency, however I discovered my love for graphic design in the process. I began my career at a small design firm with a variety of clients and when the weather in New England finally got to me I came to Charlottesville. 12 years later I followed an opportunity to work with a wonderful small company for a couple years when I discovered Perrigo here on LinkedIn!

What attracted you to join Perrigo? Since day one in the interview process with Perrigo I have been very impressed by the value placed on teamwork and company culture as well as the emphasis on good design to help our products shine. Everyone I’ve worked with these past few months takes such pride in putting out a great product and genuinely cares about the customer. The core values are so engrained in how everyone does their work that it is easy to take pride in the products we are sending to market.

What made you think the role with Perrigo ticked more boxes than roles in other companies? Every person I met during the interview process emphasized the amazing team atmosphere that is fostered here at Perrigo. The process and detail that goes into the work is pretty intense, but I have been encouraged and supported every step of the way by some amazing co-workers and management! The size and scope of Perrigo’s portfolio was impressive as well as the plans for the future in the nutrition and wellness arena. Working for a company is one thing, working for a company that wants to better the world is an entirely different thing!

How did you find the experience starting directly from home? The virtual onboarding process was very smooth! My Human Resources representative was available whenever I ran into questions about the online training, my laptop and other equipment arrived promptly and I had a personal contact to reach out to if I needed help setting things up. In the first two weeks I had a series of meet and greets with anyone and everyone I would potentially be working with in the future so I could see people’s faces and get an idea of the internal structure. On a smaller scale, my teammates were able to explain where things were housed and the workflow with some comprehensive guides. Several people have been happy to screen share while they worked so I could see the process and best practices while they talked me through each task.

What is your favourite thing to do outside of work? My favorite things to do outside of work are spend time with my family and travel. I have teenage kids and want to show them as many different places and cultures as possible before they go off on their own.
