A Spotlight on.....Manon Catala

Manon

Manon Catala recently joined Perrigo France as Payroll Assistant. Below she shares with us her experience of the hiring process and what she is enjoying most about the role so far!

What is your background and experience, tell us about you! I have a Master Degree in Medical Law and entered the year I graduated, a psychiatric hospital for children. I stayed there for 2 years, as Human Resources and Payroll Assistant. I really liked being part of their wellbeing.

What attracted you to join Perrigo? I wanted a change in my young career. As the hospital was in the public domain, I quickly realized that this was not something for me. I needed challenges, to surpass myself, to grow in confidence  and that’s what I saw in Perrigo. It was kind of a dream to me, to be able to enter such a big company, especially during a pandemic.

What made you think the role with Perrigo ticked more boxes than roles in other companies? To be honest I only sent one application…to Perrigo. I don’t know how to explain but something felt right when I found the position on LinkedIn. The job description matched perfectly with what I was dealing with at the hospital so I told myself “Why not? I can do it! Let’s go”.

What were you most excited about before you joined us? To be honest, everything was so exciting for me! I remember, when I was passing through the recruitment process, imagining how my first day will look like. I also realized that I was already using a lot of Perrigo products without even knowing it…and I felt proud! All the team sent me nice emails before I even arrived, Gregory (my manager) had everything prepared and I had the chance to see my office for a day. From the very first moment, I knew they did everything they could to welcome me nicely and to make me feel surrounded during this pandemic integration. Very soon, Gregory put me on a very nice project, and made me participate in everything, so I could get a chance to push myself forward and let people know I was here.

What has surprised you in the first 30 days? All the trust I received from the team! They shared everything they could with me, even asked me my opinions on matters. This was very new for me, and I’ve been busy since I arrived with a lot of tasks! I love how Gregory is letting me handle projects and how I can rely on the team.

How have you found the experience starting directly from home? Strangely, I was very fine with it. As I said, I had such a nice welcoming and onboarding call with the team so…no time to be anxious at any point. I never did remote work, even during covid, so again, lots of new adventures.

Tell me about the best day you’ve had so far? I had a lot of best days! Meeting the team, having great trainings, exchanging about our past experiences…But I think the greatest one was when Gregory gave me my first specific project, my “baby” as we like to call it. From this day, I really took a shot of self-confidence and told myself “here you go, that’s your baby, make it happen, and make it good”.

Why would you recommend Perrigo to other potential joiners? I would recommend it 100%.  Because of the people, the trust, the variety of very interesting tasks, the culture, and the great management spirit. I’ve learned so much in 30 days about me and I’ve never been so happy in my career. I wish everyone to know this feeling.

What is your favourite thing to do outside of work?  I love exploring new cities…This is something I’ve really missed with Covid…But, as I always try to see the positive in hard situations, Covid made me learn how to sew, so I keep practicing and dreaming about our next trip!

We are always looking for passionate, dedicated people to join our teams at Perrigo. Take your next career step today and check out our live vacancies!
