Gail Schwartz has been at Perrigo for four years and works as a Learning and Development Consultant within our Human Resource function.
What made you decide to join Perrigo? I joined Perrigo because I believe in the vision for making lives better by providing quality, affordable self-care products that consumers trust everywhere they are sold. Our mission is to engage and empower Perrigo colleagues to learn and grow.
How has your career progressed since you joined Perrigo? Initially I started at Perrigo in the Global Training Team as a Senior Training Coordinator and within 6 months, I was promoted to Learning and Development. This moved me from a tactical position to a much more strategic position focusing on leadership development. I look forward to expanding my role and continuing to learn about L&D and contribute to Organizational Development.
What keeps you at Perrigo? I enjoy the people I work with at Perrigo and the relationships I have made. I also enjoy the dynamic environment. Everyone is encouraged to suggest changes for continuous improvement. I have had the opportunity to be part of changes that improved the quality of the training we provide. I like being able to make a difference at Perrigo.
What is your favourite part of your role? The best part of working at Perrigo and in my role is the opportunity to collaborate with people from around the globe. This has been very valuable in helping me learn about different parts of our organization, but more importantly to get to know people from different cultures. We have teammates based in Belgium and Ireland and it has been a privilege to get to know them.
What is your career highlight so far? I’ve had the opportunity to be part of the Team that creates and maintains the Global Learning Catalogue that provides learning opportunities for our colleagues around the globe. This is for sure a standout highlight for me!
What would you say to people thinking about applying to Perrigo? If you are thinking of joining Perrigo, I strongly recommend it! The culture is collaborative. People work hard, but we do things the right way. There are a lot of growth opportunities. Good work is recognized and rewarded. It is a good career move!
